Hey Family and friends,
For memorial day weekend we had the opportunity to visit Lela's brother Earl. He was down at Fort Bragg which is only a four hour drive from here so we thought we would take advantage of the situation! We decided that we wanted to go on a kayaking trip! Earl planned out our route and found a place for us to camp. Earls good friend Rusty also came. On the drive out we had fun throwing twizzlers and trying to get them into Rusty's jeep at each stop light, while Earl retaliated with throwing chocolate at us!
It had been pouring rain all morning and the weather cleared up just as we were getting ready to put the kayaks in. He is a really nice guy. We were on the river for about half an hour before we found a great little swimming hole with a fun bluff to jump off. 
A little ways after that we saw two Bald Eagles. The weather couldn't have been better for the trip. We stopped for lunch on some rocks and continued on. The first day was long but it was amazing!We set up camp and spent the night next to the river and had another great day of kayaking. We hit a lot more rapids and Rusty lost his $170 sunglasses along with his hat. Earl lost some sun glasses...that Rusty had given him and his favorite Army t-shirt. Cliff almost lost his hat in some rapids but I caught it under the water. An
d I almost lost my favorite sandals but Cliff so very bravely rescued them from the rapids! It was such a fun day well other than the fact that I hurt my arm on the first day and it had begun to swell really bad. We ended up wraping up our trip a little early because of it, and after a long stay at the ER we were told that it would be fine. But i got a really awesome cast out of it! It was such a fun weekend and such a great chance to spend with my brother. We had a great time! Swimming, kayaking, and soaking up some sun what a weekend!
